Walter Anderson
When you go to a McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, or any other fast food you can expect to receive paper napkins. But none of those fast-food restaurants were the ones to introduce paper napkins. It was actually one of the founders of White Castle. Now, you may not be a fan of their small hamburgers and that’s okay. I didn’t try them until I was about 16 years old and I thought they were quite tasty. Then I had them when I was about 30 years old and they didn’t taste as well as I had remembered them. But that’s not why I’m writing this post.
The paper napkin was introduced by Walter Anderson. He was born November 26, 1880 in St. Marys, Kansas. When he was 36 years old he began to sell hamburgers out of a streetcar in Wichita. He sold them at a busy intersection and his burgers were a hit. He expanded the number of streetcars until he had enough money to open his own shop.
